And as the appliance and AC people since 1970, we know a bit about taking advantage of special offers and discounts. Below are a few cost saving tips for next time you’re in need of new appliances:

• Buy older models when new models roll out. When manufacturers unveil their new models, deals can be found on older lines so retailers can make room for the new inventory. Ranges and ovens typically roll out in January, Refrigerators in May, and Washer/Dryers and Dishwashers in September and October.

• Buy new appliances on major holidays and sales events. If you want a newly released model, hold off until the next holiday or big day sale like Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, or Black Friday to get the best savings.

• Buy seasonal items in the off season. Even though we’re in the sunshine state, there are still times of the year considered off season for heating/cooling systems and grills. Take advantage during the “winter” and “summer” months for deals on these somewhat seasonal items.

• Buy smaller appliances at the end of the year. Look for deals on smaller appliances such microwaves, coffee makers, and toaster ovens the last two months of the year when retailers are looking to clear out excess inventory.
